BarTender Designer caching database fields and not showing field aliases when using a View in SQL Server
Hi
When I set up a custom SQL query as the datasource, BT Designer seems to cache the query structure and field names, such that if I change the query, it doesn't reflect this change in the "Database fields" list. I have to basically create a completely new label template with the revised SQL.
On top of this, if I use a view to mask the field naming etc, BT somehow identifies the underlying table names and field names and forces me to reference those. That defeats one of the key reasons for using a view.
How do I force BT to clear its caching of query structures and honour the query I've written? No clicking the little green 'Refresh' button doesn't do anything.
Also if I try to use the record browser, if I have any parameters, it only prompts me the one time for those, and if I change the query structure or just want to provide different parameters, I can't! This is maddening. A program designed to interact with databases should have no problems with refreshes or query changes...
