Data from product selection software to BarTender
Hi Everyone
I want to automate our data labels which is on all our products.
Today we are typing the data in our software and are printing the label - It must be posslb to do this in a more clever way.
Our customer is using our product selection software (Configurator) to design our products(Ventilation units) in a way that they want it.
Much of the data in our selection software is saved in an .XML file which goes into our ERP system.
But much of the data on our data labels is stated in the .XML file - So is it possible to extract the needed data automatically into Bartender from an .XML file?

I would use Bartender Integration Builder. I would create an integration that monitors a folder for a new file. The expect file type can be set to XML.
You copy your xml file to the monitored folder. Integration Builder will open the file read the data and send the data to a Bartender format to print the label.

Hi Anders
Yes this can be done by using Integration Builder. I have done this by using an XSL to transfor into BTXML that Bartender can read.
If any help is needed You can send me an email on anders@evikali.dk

There are many different ways that could be accomplished with Integration Builder (or Commander on older versions).
You don't have to use the xml file from your configurator to trigger it. You can also just connect it to your ERP database (which may have other fields you'd like to add) and build your label jobs that way.
Just keep in mind you don't have to source the data from the same place you trigger the printing.
