Hi,

I have a client that owns a flower shop, she purchased a ribbon printer (Argox OS-214TT) to print ribbons, the ribbon size is about 3 inches wide but length should be able to print over 100 inches.  She said she was able to print with that length without any issues using BarTender version 9.xx before, but recently the computer had some virus problem so end up restore the computer from old image, but now whenever she prints from old saved labels, it will give error about the size of the design is exceeds the printer's limitation, if she want to let BarTender fix the size automatically, and if she click that option, it will just give another error saying there is error in the template then stop.  I've try find the label templates from the preinstalled label template lists but none of them has long enough length to print what she need to print (the longest one I can find is only 4 inches), anyone able to help?

I do not think you can. BarTender will take the media settings/maxiumns from the spec of the driver itself and looking at the spec sheet of the printer it says the maximum print length is approx 8 inches (203mm). The only ways round this I could see, although I am not sure they would work would be

  • install a similar printer resolution (203dpi) driver that accepts the same programming commands/language as the 214TT but does not have the maximum print length and use that
  • see if you can find an old driver release that does not have the max print length embedded into it

Hi Thank you for your reply,  I finally solved the problem, I end up change the driver from Argox OS-214TT to Argox OS Plus 214 then create new label setting under printer preferences with 3" wide and 43" (This driver allow maximum of 43" length instead of 8") length with continuous paper setting.  Now she is able to print ribbons with maximum 43" in length which is enough for her needs.
