Hello,

We have a Zebra GT800 with Print Server TL-PS110P working like a charm, and we are thinking in purchase Bartender Profissional, with a client side for enduser PCs, and a server side to manage network printers, but the thing is if it would work with this setup that I have mentioned.

Waiting for an answer,

Regards,

FC.

With BarTender 2019 Professional the printing software can be installed on any number of computers and/or servers all linked to a central licence element that is typically running on a central server. The licence determines how many printers you can print to from the devices on your network.

With Professional the actual print jobs must be instigated by the user themselves either through the main Designer program or (often better as more secure especially when you want to restrict access to the design elements) via the Print Station companion application. For individual computers you are also able to restrict which printers that can be used from that machine even if the printer driver is available for use on the PC by other applications.

I am not entirely sure what you mean by managing network printers but hopefully the above may help you in deciding whether Professional meets your needs or if you require a more enhanced version of the software.

Ah ok, I thought that it was supposed to add printers on server side, and BarTender Professional from enduser side would send print jobs to server side, but now I understand with what you have written.

About print jobs, you said that endusers could done print jobs from BarTender Professional, or through a Print Station application. The difference between both is that BarTender Profissional is the read and write program and the Prin Station application is a read only program, is that it?

End users can print via the main BarTender Designer program but that could also mean they can edit the labels too unless you add in some form security which I think for Professional would only be the Print Only Password setting from the Administer menu. Print Station just means the users can open and print labels and cannot change any of the fields unless those have been made as print time entry fields, or else connected to a database so that the data changes depending on what record you have selected.
