Template Design is different from the printed version Follow

Hi Guys,

I am new to the printing / labelling world and would like to try and make things easier when it comes to designing and printing my labels.

I am using Bartender Designer 2019 V11.1 and that prints to a Zebra ZT230 Barcode Printer.

The problem i am having is when i create my design using Bartender everything looks perfect on the design view when i print half the print is off the label.

I then managed to make it line up on the label but its all over the place on the designer ... how can i make the template and the printed media mirror each other?

Thanks in Advance

Round labels can be a bit of a pain to deal with and more often than not it is the printer setup itself where the issue lies. Here are a few things to checkout

  • Make sure you are using the correct resolution driver to match your printer. I would also recommend using the Seagull Zebra driver rather than the ZDesigner driver that Windows likes to install by default.
  • In your label design in BarTender check you label settings. The width of the page is the width of the label plus backing whilst the height is the height of the label itself. The right and left margin are the size of the backing material at the widest point of the label.
  • Probably the greatest factor is the position of the label sensor in the printer. I cant remember if the ZT230 has a fixed or adjustable label sensor. If it fixed then you will need to look at the type of label you are using and may need to use labesl with a notch in them or with a black mark on the back of the backing paper. Without these, the sensor needs to be positioned in such a way that the red light from the sensor is located at the bottom of the curve of the label otherwise the printer will "think" the label starts wherever it intersects on the curve of the label. The link below is to the Zebra websiet and may help to explain this better:

Hi Pete,

The ZT230 has an adjustable sensor and thankfully the labels have the black mark.

Thanks for your input, I will change the driver and adjust the label settings and hope for the best.

Regards

Kenny
