Hi,

i build a Label with a Fom to print a label and a pdf with the same informations simultaneous. It works great when i'm saving the PDF printout locally but it's noch working at all when i'm using a network path. The PDF won't be saved. It doesn't matter if i'm using X:\\.... or \\servername\...

I also tried to run Bartender System Service as Administrator instead of local system service but  unfortunately it changed nothing at all.

Is there a way to "tell" the Bartender PDF Priter which user he should use to save a pdf?

Unfortunately i'm not able the use an integration.

Kind regards,

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thank you for the posting.

The test result of your requirement on BarTender 2021 R10 is good.
Able to save the file with Windows UNC path, for example, \\servername\folder\file name.
I would suggest trying another different PDF printer driver and make sure the current Windows user is able to access the shared folder.

Hi Bruse,

i'm using Bartender 2021 R6. There is no R10 yet ;)

The Windows user has access to the UNC path. I had the idea that the services must run with a user that has access to the network drives, but that did not work either.

I use the Bartender variables to assign the PDF file names. Is there another PDF printer that also supports these?

Dear Daniel,

I had same issue when printing to native PDF printer of bartender when trying to print btxml script from a bartender integration service. I solved changing the user of the process "Bartender Print Scheduler", since is the process involved also when using native PDF printer.

Assign  the process "Bartender Print Scheduler" to a user that has privileges to access the requested network folder. Using \\servername\\path\\filename.pdf or //servername//path//filename.pdf is the same, at least from btxml script point of view. Let us know if it works.
