Unable to add printer with Seagull Drivers
Unable to add printer from Windows based print server on Windows client. Receive error "Windows cannot connect to the Printer. There is not enough memory to complete this operation. Please close some applications and try again". Also detected this event in Event log that seems to correspond: "Event 256 seagull driver environment setup". System has adequate RAM, and this error occurs after a reboot with no other programs loaded. Even increased paging file size to see if virtual memory was an issue, but this did not help either.
Any help appreciated.

I forgot I posted here for this - we found the issue after some time. The exact driver used on the print server sharing the printer needs to be used for any subsequent printer installs on clients accessing the shared printer. But we couldn't find any prior versions on the Seagull Scientific site. Thankfully the print server Server Admin still had the original set of drivers and we were able to use those on all our client systems. I guess an alternative would have been to have the Server Admin install the latest drivers on the print server and then use those.

I had the same problem in a home environment.
After several attempts and ensuring that the driver matched on both server and client, this is what worked for me.
On the client machine...
Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners
Click add a printer
When " The printer that I wanted isn't listed" shows up, click that hyperlink
Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings. Click Next.
Click Create a new port. Select Local Port for Type of port.
In the Port Name box, type the path to the printer in the following format, where server is the name of the print server and printer is the share name of the printer (e.g. \\server\printer). Click OK.
Select the printer model and driver. Click Next.
If the exact model isn't listed, click Have Disk and browse to the location where you extracted the drivers. When prompted to share the printer, select Do not share this printer. Click Next.
