Server restart impact
I am updating the OS on our Bartender server. While I am updating and restarting it, will there be an impact on the local installs of bartender throughout our network? For example, will the license portion of the server cause printing to stop on local installs if it is temporarily unavailable? We are printing pretty much 24/7 so I'm trying to get an idea of what kind of window I should be aiming for (ex. can do when printing is not in heavy use vs. scheduling an outage). Thanks for your help!

Hello James,
That is an interesting question; when the machine acting as the Seagull License Server is not reachable by other workstations with a local BarTender install, these will continue operating normally for a period of 3 days from the moment they can't reach the server. So, local installs will be able to function normally for 72 hours allowing us a sufficient window of opportunity to update the server.
Also, regular workstations will periodically display warning message #2401, with useful information of the current situation, such as how long of a grace period we have left to continue using BarTender without it being connected to the Seagull License Server:
I hope this information was of use and let us know if there is anything else we can help you with! We are always happy to help.0
