BarTender 11.4
Release Notes for the BarTender 11.4 Release
Customer-reported issues and features that were added or improved in BarTender are listed below.
March 2025
- March 10, 2025
New Features
- Print Portal OneDriver. Rather than installing many Seagull printer drivers on the Print Portal server to facilitate printing, you can now install Print Portal OneDriver on the Print Portal server. When you print from a web browser on a client machine, BarTender works in conjunction with Print Portal OneDriver on the Print Portal server to generate efficient print code.
Print Portal OneDriver can only be installed on the Print Portal server, and while it replaces a host of printer drivers on that server, the client machines must still have the actual target printer drivers installed. Print Portal OneDriver replaces the target printer drivers on the Print Portal server only. For more information on supported drivers and fonts, see Working with Printer Drivers (https://help.seagullscientific.com/2022/en/#Working_With_Printer_Drivers.htm) and Supported Fonts (https://help.seagullscientific.com/2022/en/#Supported_Fonts.htm) in the BarTender help system.
Notes:
-
- When printing from Print Portal or from the Actions API, the printer path has the UNC format \\<clientMachineName>\\<printer name>.
- Seagull recommends against renaming Print Portal OneDriver, since renaming OneDriver can break functionality and make the driver unusable.
- Google Fonts Support. All BarTender products now support Google Fonts. In addition, Google Fonts are now automatically installed with BarTender, so you no longer have to download and install them manually. To see the list of Google Fonts now available, see the "Supported Fonts" topic in the BarTender help system.
BarTender fonts now install in the BarTender folder and are only available through BarTender.
- Common Template Library. All BarTender products now share one common label template library. This library is accessible online. The cloud-based label template library introduces a new user interface, Template Manager, and offers more than 400 pre-built label templates, as well as any new label templates as they are published.
When creating a new document in Designer, the Template Manager displays when you choose Select a Template from Library in the New Document Wizard. You can sort, filter, and search for templates in this dialog.
- .NET 8 Support. Support for .NET 6 ended on November 12, 2024. As a result, BarTender now supports .NET 8 to mitigate service vulnerabilities. Support for .NET 8 helps customers get back onto a supported version of the .NET. Technical support for .NET 6 is no longer available.
- New BarTender Branding. BarTender Software has been refreshed with the newest BarTender branding. Some of the items with the new branding include dialog boxes, file icons, and splash screens.
Notices
- Windows Server 2025 Compatibility. BarTender 11.4 and 11.3 R8 are compatible with Windows Server 2025.
- Upgrading BarTender. In order to upgrade to the next version of BarTender, major or minor, you must have an active Maintenance and Support Agreement (MSA). If you do not have an active MSA, you will not be able to activate your upgraded version of BarTender.
- BarTender 11.4 makes use of MS SQL Server 2019 Express Support. On February 8, 2025 Microsoft ended Mainstream Support for MS SQL Server 2019 Express. As a result, MS SQL Server 2019 Express moved to Extended Support, which means feature requests and non-security updates are no longer available. Extended Support will continue until January 2030. Apart from feature requests and non-security updates, this change in support status will not affect BarTender users. Currently, Seagull is actively looking to update SQL Server Express to the latest available and supported version.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where Reprint Console and History Explorer doesn't show print-time image capture in the preview.
- Fixed an issue with labels that had a VB script defined in the document level VB script event OnPrintJobEnd. When doing either a print or print preview of the label, the code contained within this event executed before printing started in Print Portal.
- Fixed an issue where entering new height and/or width values in the Dropdown Record Picker Properties dialog did not apply those values to the dropdown.
- Fixed an issue with Record Picker and Select Records. When selecting records, after setting the quantities for one or more database records, tabbing to a new record resets the Quantity value to its default, erasing any quantities already set and deselecting the records.
- Fixed an issue with the Select Records dialog where using the Next Page button on the dialog or the Page Down button on the keyboard deleted all the previously selected records.
- Fixed an issue with the Silent System Database Wizard. When using silent system database commands to connect to a remote system database, the logs yielded "Object reference not set to an instance of an object" or incorrect connection errors and the wizard was unable to connect. However, the system database wizard in the Admin Console connected to the same remote system database without errors.
- Fixed an issue with the lower edge of some larger images being compressed when the label is printed.
- Fixed an issue when running physical and simulated printing in Process Builder to print labels, the text object was missing from the labels.
- Fixed an issue in the drop-down Record Picker where no matter the settings in the Record Picker, all columns displayed at print time.
- Fixed an issue when printing to the BarTender native PDF printer driver, where objects that use a color pattern fill did not print in color.
- Fixed an issue where settings in Font dialog were invalid in the Dropdown Record Picker. The user was unable to change the font type/size/style/color in Dropdown Record Picker.
- Fixed an issue where the user received a connection error which stopped the label from printing when attempting to connect to XLSX files downloaded from Google Sheets.
- Fixed an issue when using the BTXML tags <PrintSetup><Printer> within <FormatSetup> to pre-configure the printer before using the <Print> tag to print a label, the <Print> tag did not properly set the printer and the printer saved with the label was not used.
- Fixed an issue with the Anchor setting in the Text Properties dialog. The position of the text object in BarTender 2021 moved in the final print. When the Anchor setting Bottom Right was selected, the text moved the most; when Top Right was selected, the object moved least in the final printed label.
- Fixed an issue with label design. When printing the customer label that contained two templates and two forms, the second template's Count object was printed incorrectly, regardless of printer driver type (PDF or printer). When reviewing in the History Explorer app, however, BarTender suite inaccurately reported that the print job was correct.
- Fixed an issue where opening a 2016 version label using BarTender 2021 or 2022 caused the text to split onto two lines.
- Fixed an issue where saving cloud template files as 2019 compatible files caused an error in some files.
- Fixed an issue with the BarTender native PDF printer driver. Printing became increasingly slow the more image files were linked to the label file. Image size and format also affected the print time, with JPG images printing faster than PNG images.
- Fixed an issue with Print Station 2022. When printing labels with the Print Station, the Preview of Template object on the Data Entry Form was not able to render external images whose path and name were specified via data sources.
- Fixed an issue where a Single Line Text Object using Zebra Triumvirate font compressed or expanded when the user changed their integration's printers if the Text Object used a database field that was replaced by the integration.
Text distortion was seen in Reprint Console, the printer code, and in final prints. - Fixed an issue when printing using two data entry forms where the first form used a date picker and the second form had a record picker connected to a database, the date picker functionality broke in Print Portal and Print Station 2022.
- Fixed an issue in BarTender Reprint Console and History Explorer. When reprinting labels that included Base64 encoded pictures, the user was required to have an Administrator account since this type of picture file may not be accessible unless using elevated permissions. If the user previewed these kinds of labels in either the Reprint Console or History Explorer without Administrator permissions, the Base64 images would not display even though they printed correctly.
- Fixed an issue where using a Record Picker to select multiple copies of records in a single-page label and printing them from the Preview with BarTender Designer caused the print spooler fill up and crash.
- Fixed an issue printing templates with embedded images and text objects. When using the BarTender native PDF driver to print a template that included embedded images and a text object, the images were missing when the label printed, though they displayed correctly in Print Preview. The issue occurred when the system locale was set to Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan), Chinese (Simplified, China), or Japanese (Japan).
- Fixed an issue with the BarTender native PDF printer driver. When a document pulled from a database and at least one database field was used on the label, had more than one embedded image (at least one of which had a transparent background), and more than one static text object, some objects were missing when the document printed.
- Fixed an issue where viewing Integration Messages in the Administration Console caused the Administration Console to become unresponsive, while failing to display the Message Details.
- Fixed an issue with the file EU FIC Allergen Label. This file was unable to properly highlight allergens, either single-word allergens enclosed in parentheses; two-word allergens enclosed in parentheses after the product name; and in multi-entry lists within parentheses, the last allergen in parentheses.
- Fixed an Issue where text shown in an RTF Markup Language Container was cut off when the object was selected to “Automatically scale content to fit object dimensions” and the linked .rtf file changed.
- Fixed an issue with Print Portal. When printing from Print Portal, the print option "Cancel print jobs previously sent" did not function and print jobs previously sent were not cancelled; instead, additional print jobs were created.
- Fixed an issue where a Date Object's offset transform doubled when defined by data entry and placed in a Barcode Object in Print Portal and Print Station.
- Fixed an issue with trigger data after a restart. The first instance of a File Integration trigger after a PC restart failed with a timeout warning, though subsequent trigger events were detected and carried out successfully.
- Fixed an issue where rotating a picture in BarTender using the Picture Adjustments property page causes the picture to appear blurry and lower quality if it was rotated 90° or 270° and was a rectangular picture with a significant difference between width and height.
- Fixed an issue where users were not able to remove their BarTender Document Password if the password was set up with no hint.
- Fixed an issue with BarTender Designer 2022 R5 and later. When an embedded image was rotated and resized in Designer and the document was printed using BarTender's native PDF driver, the document printed with the image rotated but not resized. Rather, the image was sized at the original dimensions instead of the dimensions of the rotated, resized image.
- Fixed an issue with the Reprint Console. When printing a label from Print Station 2022 or Print Portal that used a database and a data entry form with a record picker, selecting Print Preview before printing displayed an empty label.
- Fixed an issue when using a named data source in multiple objects and conditional printing where using Print Preview in Print Portal or Print Station caused the named data source to be missing in the printed document.
- Fixed an issue in BarTender Designer when defining a "Transform - Number of Characters" rule in order to meet the maximum number of characters, regardless of the defined rule, BarTender allowed you to enter more characters than the maximum defined number.
- Fixed an issue where an object whose Data Type set to Date with a Custom format that uses "cc" (Canadian Date Format) and is linked to a Date Picker form object fails to print on a template in Print Station and Print Portal.
- Fixed an issue in BT2022 R6 and later. The Print Scheduler service took significantly longer to open print engines in R6 and later versions than it did in R5 and earlier versions of BarTender. Printing a document took much longer when the print engine was not already open.
- Fixed an issue with Print Portal and Print Station. When printing a BarTender document using Print Portal and Print Station (where Use Legacy Form is disable) that includes a template working as End of Job Template and a Record Picker (either Drop Down Record Picker or the Record Selection - Select at Print Time option from the Print window dialog), the End of Job Template was not be printed.
- Fixed an issue with Print Station. When printing from the Print Station using a label containing a data entry form, a Query prompt to filter the database, leaving the default value selected in the record picker, clicking Print Preview before printing, and specifying a large number of copies, the Print Station generated an endless number of pages in the print queue.
- Fixed an issue with HTML and RTF Objects where HTML or RTF object placed near the bottom of a label (Y position) and printed using the BarTender native PDF driver disappeared during preview and print.
- Fixed an issue with HTML Markup Objects. When an image was rendered in an HTML markup object, the image appeared enlarged in Print Preview. However, the image printed correctly in all drivers except the BarTender native PDF driver. In the PDF driver, the HTML Markup Object and all its contents were missing from the printed document.
- Fixed an issue where integration tasks within the BarTender Administration Console did not execute the start/stop action the first time. Instead, when you clicked Start/Stop button, the page scrolled to the top without executing the start or stop.
- Fixed an issue with the BarTender native PDF printer driver. When a BarTender document contained a Text Object and an embedded image in PNG or BMP format, only the embedded image was visible when printing using the BarTender native PDF print driver.
- Fixed an issue with Print Station (2022) and Print Portal. When printing a document using a data entry form that requires the Record Picker be used and no records are selected (e.g., the option for "Data Entry > Default > No Records" is selected in the Record Picker), selecting the Print button printed all records rather than no records.
- Fixed an issue with the BarTender native PDF printer driver. When a document pulled from a database and had one embedded or external image with a transparent background, the transparent background would render as white instead of transparent. This did not appear in the Print Preview, only in the printed document.
- Fixed an issue with Print Preview when using the BarTender native PDF print driver. When a BarTender document contained a Layout Grid Object or Table Object with multiple rows and columns covering at least 25% of the label size, and with RTF and/or HTML Markup Language Container Objects positioned within the cells, the label did not render correctly in Print Preview, though it did print correctly.
- Fixed an issue with image transparency in BarTender documents. When an image on a label was double-clicked to open the Properties dialog and the Effects tab was selected, any entry in the Transparency field was ignored by BarTender.
- Fixed an issue with the BarTender native PDF print driver. When a document had at least one embedded vector-based image with a transparent background, the BarTender PDF printer rendered the background of the image either white or black, but not transparent.
- Fixed an issue when a BarTender document was printed using the BarTender native PDF printer, and that document contained a Grid or Table Object with multiple rows and columns, where the grid or table cells contained images from a data source, some images were replaced or not visible, leading to some images being printed multiple times while others disappeared. In Print Preview, the images displayed correctly, but printed incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue when printing from a large online Excel spreadsheet where the time from initiating the print job until the user could interact with the Designer again was excessive. This was true no matter how many of the records on the spreadsheet were printed.
- Fixed an issue where a label template had more than one Word Processor object on it and was using the Merge Data feature, the label printed correctly though Reprint Console and History Explorer showed an error when attempting to generate the Print Item Preview.
- Fixed an issue where the Preview dialog no longer appeared when the Print icon above the Overview tab on the BarTender History Explorer was selected. Instead, the Print dialog displayed and the default PDF printer was not available. The default behavior (i.e., displaying the Preview dialog and having the PDF printer available) has been restored.
- Fixed an issue when using the "Get printer name from database field" option (available in the Use the Printer Name Options dialog in BarTender Designer) to source the printer from a database field. During the first print attempt, the print job was sent to the default printer saved in the document instead of the printer specified in the database field. Subsequent printings went to the correct printer.
- Fixed an issue where switching from physical printers to PDF or vice versa resulted in the integration freezing and no prints completing until after the Print Scheduler Service was restarted.
- Fixed an issue where the plus symbol (+) and percent symbol (%) were not percent-encoded as %2B and %25, respectively. According to GS1 Directives, the plus and percent symbols should be encoded, as should a space (as either + or %20). This special encoding requirement applies only to these specific graphic symbols; however, BarTender Designer incorrectly percent-encoded almost all graphic symbols when those AIs were in use.
- Fixed an issue where a database integration's Actions after Failure was set to "Copy to other table" but the failed print jobs were not copied to the selected destination.
- Fixed an issue in the BarTender Document Password dialog where the buttons OK, Cancel, and Help unexpectedly displayed over to top of other text in the dialog, rather than appearing at the bottom of the dialog. The issue occurred with the German, French, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Czech, Norwegian, Polish, and Portuguese (Portugal) languages.
- Fixed an issue where if the Regional Format setting on Windows was set to a format for which there was no matching language installed, the Support Collector tool crashed without displaying any kind of error for the user.
- Fixed an issue when printing from Integration Builder using a Print Document action with the option "Copy data source values to variables at the end of print job" enabled, and the BarTender Document being printed contained a Global Data Field and one or more Named Data Sources, the Integration Builder failed to capture the values of Named Data Sources as integration variables at the end of the print job, resulting in missing variables.
- Fixed an issue in BarTender Designer where adding an .SVG image to a template as an embedded picture using Insert from File caused the Designer to crash and close.
- Fixed an issue when re-printing labels via Reprint Console or History Explorer, any label that included a Word Processor object connected to a database field had those fields appear blank when printed, even though they were visible in the Print Job Preview.
- Fixed an issue with serialization where using Print Preview on a document with a Global Data Field object that uses a Serialization Transform attached, then clicking Cancel, incremented the serialization sequence even though no documents were printed.
- When a BarTender document had a GS1 Digital Link QR Code with the Application Identifier codes 01 (GTIN) and 8003 (GRAI), an error displayed: "GS1 Digital Link - Error: The element string should contain exactly one primary identification key - it contained 2 ["8003", "01"]; please check for a syntax error". According to GS1 and their standard, this is incorrect and has been fixed.
- Fixed an issue with Print Portal where domain users who were part of a domain group could not see the folders they have group permission to view.
- Fixed an issue when printing a label connected to a database with multiple records and multiple text objects where control objects appeared on every record, Print Station continued to print the value entered for the first record, regardless of the values entered for subsequent records.
- Fixed an issue with Print Station when printing a label with multiple records and the Transforms Suppression option enabled, the print result showed incorrect data.
- Fixed an issue when printing from the Print Portal’s preview screen: if the print job exceeded the Maximum Number of Print Preview images allowed to generate per request, Print Portal produced incorrect and duplicate data on labels.
- Fixed an issue when printing through the Web Service, BTXML File Integration, or SDK, where documents failed to be saved after receiving an error indicating that an image could not load due to a corrupted data format.
- Fixed an issue when printing a named data source linked to a data entry form and with serialization enabled and both layers conditionally printing, where the named data source values were missing if the "begins with" condition printed anything other than the first layer.
- Fixed an issue in BarTender Integration Builder. When printing using a Print BTXML Script action with Simulated Print enabled, the Print BTXML Script action does not complete due to an error during processing.
- Fixed an issue when using an Access database with joined tables in a database integration: the database fields did not display in the drop down list of the New Record Detection Method settings.
- Fixed an issue in Designer where using a tab-delimited text database connection when two or more consecutive records contain double quotes ["] followed by any character or word (excepting the space key) caused the Database Setup Wizard to combine all subsequent fields into a single row.
- Fixed an issue when previewing a layer in a document in Designer. If an object was added to a layer then deleted, or if a new blank layer was created, the preview displayed the deleted data entry form rather than the blank template.
- Fixed an issue with serialization in Print Portal and Print Station. When a serialization transform was applied to a label that also had a data entry form to input the amount of serial numbers for the job, the serialization was advanced and saved in temporary memory even when the job was cancelled.
- Fixed an issue in Designer when a template is connected to an Excel Online database and the Specify a Custom SQL Statement option is selected. A connection error occurred as soon as Custom SQL Statements were enabled in the document.
- Fixed an issue when attempting to permanently lock the EPC/UII block of an NXP UCODE9 chip in BarTender Designer with a TEC B-EX4T1-T printer, without specifying a password. In this case, the print operation failed, and an error message displayed on the printer's LCD.
- Fixed an issue when connecting a BarTender document to version 4.0.4 or newer of Firebird. In BarTender 2016 and later the database dropdown in the Database Setup Wizard failed to populate, preventing users from selecting the database and completing the connection.
- Fixed an issue when using the BarTender native PDF printer to print Thai characters. The results of this print were that the Thai characters were garbled text, question marks, or no text at all. This occurred when using certain fonts; it did not occur with all fonts.
- Fixed an issue in BarTender Designer. When a date with a naming pattern starting with a two-digit year (yy) was linked to a Date Picker control object on a form, Designer would sometimes fail to render the date (<empty>) or would parse it incorrectly. If the date was the only object present on the template, it sometimes resulted in an error.
- Fixed an issue with the Date Picker Control. When the Windows Region Format was set to English (United States) and two or more text objects with different date formats were attached to the label, the Date Picker Control sometimes displayed empty or incorrect data.
- Fixed an issue with integration tasks in the BarTender Administration Console. When a user scrolled down to press the Start/Stop button of an existing integration task for the first time, the list automatically scrolled back to the top without executing the action. The user needed to scroll back down and press the Start/Stop button a second time to execute the integration task.
- Fixed an issue where adding certain control characters to a search and replace transform inside text objects on label templates caused the dynamic filters inside the database connection to stop working properly. Either the dynamic filter no longer returned any records, or it returned the entire database.
- Fixed an issue when an object on the label had a Clock type data source that was serialized and used a Reset option based on calendar or clock changes, the Reset Now option in the serialization did not work.
- Fixed an issue where when exporting a printer code template to a network location using Printer Code Modifiers (such as Search and Replace, Delete, Insert, etc.), BarTender Designer became unresponsive for a period of time and did not always complete.
- Fixed an issue in Print Portal. When printing a document with a serialization using the default configuration that also used a Data Entry form to define the number of serialized copies, the document was not saved back at the end of the print run and the serialization was reset.
- Fixed an issue when printing or previewing a document using BarTender's native PDF driver and a multilabel layout (i.e., many labels on the same sheet) that contained an HTML text object, the object was only printed or rendered on the first label.
- Fixed an issue in Designer. When running BarTender in a language other than English, accessing the Templates tab on the Page Setup dialog to add a new Template Selector caused fields on the interface to display incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue with Integration Builder. When importing a Commander task list into Integration Builder, the variable conversion failed.
- Fixed an issue in BarTender Designer where the preview in the Page Setup dialog did not display correctly when the orientation was set to Landscape.
- Fixed an issue when exporting to PDF through BarTender's native PDF driver, tables within a Word Processor Text object did not print correctly even though they displayed correctly on screen.
- Fixed an issue where using Arabic text and printing to BarTender's native PDF driver caused the output to display incorrectly, even though it displayed correctly during preview.
- Fixed an issue when the maximum character limit was reached in a Text Input Box Control on a form where the focus failed to shift automatically to the next control object even though that behavior was specified in the Focus Behavior settings in the Text Input Box Properties dialog.
- Fixed an issue where editing the BarTender REST API config file (appsettings.json in "C:\Program Files\Seagull\BarTender 11.4\net8.0") and setting "AuthenticationSchemes" to
"AuthenticationSchemes": {
"Basic": true,
"NTLM": false,
"Negotiate": false
},
caused the Integration Service to stop working, despite still running, and the BarTender REST API to create an "Unprocessable Entity" error.
- Fixed an issue where the function "Copy data source values to variables at the end of print job" was unable to process, even when the action "Ignore errors and continue running actions" had been checked.
- Fixed an issue when using Dropbox as scan location for an integration, where a Dropbox account attached to an integration was no longer recognized or authorized after a period of time.
- Fixed an issue with BarTender's native PDF driver. When an image was embedded and rotated in BarTender, then printed using BarTender's native PDF driver, the PDF page size in the output changed to 8.5x11 inches.
- Fixed an issue with Automatic Zero Padding in Print Portal. When using the function to autofill characters in order to keep a numeric field the correct number of characters, the autofill failed when printing labels from Print Portal.
- Fixed an issue where BarTender rMQR codes produced incorrect values when the data source contained 3 or more integer digits before an HTTP or HTTPS URL string. For example: "111https://support.seagullscientific.com/ ". This issue occurred with all text encodings.
- Fixed an issue in Integration Builder where the text "Specify values for named data sources" was not translated when the language was set to French.
- Fixed an issue in Integration Builder. If one of the Action fields in the After Action Detection and After Action Failure sections was set to Move File, and the field was then set to another action (for example, Rename File), Integration Builder still attempted to move the file even when Move File was not selected. If the current user did not have permission to access the defined path or the path did not exist, the integration was prevented from running.
- Fixed an issue with Print Station where the Zoom tool was missing in the Preview window.
- Fixed an issue with BarTender's native PDF printer driver where a Text object was not visible in Preview and did not print if the object was in a layer with the Transparency effects enabled.
- Fixed an issue where when the HTML Container object was set to "Automatically scale content to fit object dimension" with a set object dimension of 1.768" x 0.654", aligned to the center (vertically and horizontally), and content scaling minimum set to 5%, the text contents did not render correctly when using the Mirror Effects.
- Fixed an issue with the BarTender REST API where it printed a label that included an external image file where the file name came from a data source. If the file name was invalid, the job status showed as "Faulted" but the print job was completed anyway and the label printed without the image.
- Fixed an issue in the Administration Console when the "Use printer redirection and failover settings" checkbox was unchecked. If a BarTender document was saved under a network printer driver and the document was opened from a computer where that network driver was not available, the BarTender document took a long time to open in BarTender Designer.
- Fixed an issue with Integration Builder. When Integration Builder displayed an "Image File Not Found" error, it continued to submit the print job even though the trigger file was marked as failed due to the missing image.
- Fixed an issue in the BarTender REST API and Print Portal REST API where they returned a "RanToCompletion" status in their response indicating that the print was successful when, instead, it had failed and nothing was printed.
- Fixed an issue when converting text from a Julian date format in a text input field where the first Text object contained the text input in Julian date format and a second object read the value of the Julian formatted date and converted it to another format. When previewed and printed, the second Text object did not appear.
- Fixed an issue where the native MariaDB database connector failed to populate when connecting a BarTender document to a more recent version of MariaDB (10.11.x). The database dropdown in the Database Setup Wizard failed to populate, which prevented users from selecting the database and completing the connection.
- Fixed an issue when many licenses were activated on the same BarTender Licensing Server. After activating 15 licenses on the same license server, the Licensing tab in the Administration Console failed to function properly when attempting to expand any license details in the Licenses tab on License Setup, and the License Setup pane became unclickable.
- Fixed an issue where serialization stopped working when more than one copy was printed per serial number, one template per page was printed, and the template contained an image object. This occurred when using BarTender's native PDF printer.
- Fixed an issue with BarTender's native PDF printer. Exporting to PDF using the native PDF driver took as long as five minutes to complete, with the interface hanging or becoming unresponsive for the duration of the operation.
- Fixed an issue where scanner and camera/webcam setup failed with the error message "No image acquisition devices were found on this system."
