    i just got this error yesterday,

    i'm testing the new version of BarTender (Testversion) cause we want to use the newer version.

    But let me say so... why is it so difficult to set up ???

    And why can things like this happen more than one year after it happend to Rick Thompson?

    The old version is of course easier to handle but we have to migrate to a newer BarTender server.

    If i can read Ricks text and the answer correctly, it is not possible to remove all BarTender, reinstall and try to make my setup again?

    Then please help me with my problem

    I've downloaded the trial version of 2019 to do some design and integration testing for a new ERP implementation happening in July (i did the initial development in a trial version of 2016). I did manage to run Bartender and Integration Builder last week, but I tried to go back in yesterday and I'm getting the same error as reported above.

    Any ideas as to how I can proceed?

    Hi, same thing here : The security policy doesn't allow the user to acces to  the Bartender Administration system.

    When we check on the log, we can read about the MSSQL process :

    Login failed for user 'XXX'. Reason: Failed to open the explicitly specified database 'Datastore'. [CLIENT: <local machine>]

     

    Any idea ?

    I setup BT 2019 running in free mode to create a Proof of concept and everything was working until today when I got the same error trying to start any BT Application.

    Now dead in the water.

     

    What's the resolution to this problem?

    For those here using BarTender 2019 and getting "Error #2622 - BarTender's security policy does not allow the specified user to perform this action." intermittently when trying to open BarTender, this is a known issue we are looking to address in the next service release. Generally, you can workaround the issue by restarting the BarTender System Service from the Windows services list.

    Just installed BT 2019 on a new server. I am a domain admin with 2019 installed on just my system and I am getting this message.  I ahve restarted system service but no change.  I will be opening a ticket.

    We just got this message have installing BT 2016 R9 as requested.  It would be nice if you posted a solution.  We tried restarting the service as mentioned.

    The windows 10 desktop that we originally installed BT 2016 on died. We reinstalled it and now we are getting error Message #2622 on it. My user id gets permission denied on the action: RUN.  Error message states that BT's security policy does not allow the specified user to perform this action.  When we re-installed BT2016 on the replacement host, the install did not call for a product key.  Could that be the issue?  Can you please post the solution to this error?

    I have the same issue with the permission denied when click the bartender 2016. previously is running well. there is so many same issue here but yet no solution to solve it.....Why?

    Am using the Bartender 2019 Automation version. And yesterday it seems I clicked on Apply changes in the Admin Console. And my Windows User ID did not have the admin rights yesterday. So, it just blocked me from all the Bartender applications including the Admin Console. Now I have the Administrator rights, but still am unable to open any application. Any help is appreciated.

    Have upgraded the Bartender from 2019 to 2022, we re facing the same issue. eventhough the user has admin rights, The BT application deny to open the Admin Console or Designer application.

    Even to access security tab in admin console, its asking admin login.. PL post a solution

    nd also facing critical problem in deactivating the printer license also
