Sorry, need some more information about what you are doing, for example is this to do with using a label linked to a database and you are using the scanned code as the look up/filter etc?

i have an excel file as database, is it possible for me to scan the barcode that is linked to the excel database and let bartender print out new template barcode with correct information

Yes that is possible. In your database setup add a filter linked to the field you wish to scan and then from the drop down choose New Query Prompt and then configure the screen as appropriate ticking the Barcode box as highlighted.

thank you so much it works great! but I need to press ctrl + p and enter in order to scan and let it print, is there any solution to skip the ctrl + p and enter so that i can directly scan
and once i scanned and printed out the barcode can i have scanned data to be inserted into excel database?0 -
If you tick this then once the label is opened BarTender will return to the entry screen again without you having to use the CTRL+P.
You could possibly achieve the writing back to the database via an Action option or else some VB but not sure on what the code/commands would be
