Multiple printers linked to one Bartender File
I'm really confused on this and hoping someone can help.
We have a procedure that runs and selects a Bartender file to print some labels. The label was created in the Bartender and had a certain printer linked to it at the time. What's confusing to me is, it also has another printer linked to it. Is this possible? I've always been told Bartender only has one printer linked to each file. When the Procedure runs and uses the Bartender file it knows to select Printer A (which it was created with) or Printer B if it's installed on the computer. If It can't find either printer, it uses the Windows default (which is used for something else)
Is it possible to link multiple printers to one file? If not how is this happening? It doesn't seem linked to the machine as I have tried this on random machines all over and If I have either of those printers installed, it knows to use them. If I open the file and have either of those printers installed it opens fine, if I have neither installed it tells me the printer to set it up is missing. It seems to accept Printer A and Printer B as the printers that were used to set this file up.
If possible I want to add another printer to this file, as at the moment some users will print from station A and B which has the relevant printers installed, so when the print dialogue box appears, it has auto defaulted to those printers and they just print. A new station C was put in and without thinking the users just print when the dialogue box pops up, as this is what they're used to and it causes confusion as it's selecting the Windows default because it can't find Printer A or B.
Hopefully this makes sense.
