Multi-Database Join Error
I have two databases (one in an ERP system and one from a scanner) that contain item and serial number data. To get a single unique record for label printing I am trying to get BarTender to link from Table 1 to Table 2 using an Inner Join on both the item number and serial number. I am getting an error that says:
Invalid multi-database join condition.
Row 1 and 2 use the same record sets.
If I remove one of the joins it works but I get all of the ERP records for that item or serial number (depending on which one I use for the join). Am I going about this the right way?

It sounds like you need to set the scanner input as the filter/look up/query to search through the ERP database rather than try to use it as a 2nd database

I don't understand why the join fails when I use two fields but works with one. I can join on the item number OR the serial number and it works but as soon as I try to join using both it fails.

I would suggest you just need to set up one join condition to connect the databases but need to add a second filter/query for the 2nd part of the search.
