Bartender And Baan Iv
Hi
Actually I do not know if my topic belongs to this group.
We have Bartender 7.75 working with Baan IV to print product labels, it was configured some years ago and it is working fine.
We also have Bartender 10 in a different server but not working with Baan, it is used in some other label applications. the intention is to migrate everything to Bartender 10, but ....so far I cannot make Bartender 10 work with Baan IV, I am not changing any configuration, we installed the Baan software and Bartender 10 and when we try to print as we do with Baan 7.75 we got this error "Cannot create local file", Baan tries to create a temp file with all the needed data to print the label, we know this is not a folder permissions issue because we have change the tmp file destination to different locations and we continue getting the same error, we also configured a local folder in C:drive getting the same results
does any one have experience or any idea on why Bartender 10 does not work like Bartender 7.75?
another thing we noticed is that Bartender 7.75 and Baan IVonly works with Windows XP, if we upgrade to Windows 7 we do not get errors and we do not get any label printed
Thank you[attachment=868:Bartender.png]

What edition of BarTender v10.0 are you running?
BarTender v7.75 is strictly speaking not fully Windows 7 compatible.
Wouldn't the error message indicate your BAAN system has trouble writing the temporary transaction data file, and therefore is a problem on that side, rather than anything to do with BarTender?

Hello Ian
you were right, Baan client did not have all the needed permissions to create files, I have resolved that, now I am getting different errors, (see attached) Do you have an idea how can I fix this?

Can you show me the actual contents of a trigger file? Are you executing a pre-defined BarTender command for the task, or a Commander script? It looks like you're not setting the data file reference correctly. It should be exactly like I have below:
/D="%Trigger File Name%"

I cannot upload the actual file thi is the file contentFORMAT|BRAND|SERIAL|ITEM|Revison|Country|Model|Rating|P/C Title|Product Code|MFG Date|Voltage Logo|Output|FCC|ETL Logo|ETL Number|CSA Logo|CE Logo|Trade Mark|C-Tick Logo\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FORMATS\2412-2369-00-2.btw||123A1412012938|0300-1348-01| B0|MADE IN MEXICO|||MODEL:||03-19-14|\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FILES\000\Hertz.pcx|NRTL||\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FILES\000\c_tuv_us1.pcx|51767|\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FILES\000\ctick.pcx|\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FILES\000\ce.pcx|\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FILES\000\weee.pcx|\\mtm1fps01\BarTender\LABLDATA\FILES\000\TUVRGS.pcxIan I cannot thell you the if I am using a pre-defined BarTender command for the task, or a Commander script..the only parametrs I see are thhose shwn in one of my first screen shoots. I do not configure anything else. What I know is that the way it is configure right now is working with WIN XP and Bartender 7.75So what I understand is that the current parameters are not compatible with Bartender 10.00 -
The trigger file is simply delimited data, and so isn't too helpful in itself. Can you instead attach the Commander task list file? This is the document file type of Commander that contains the configuration data of your task list. At this point my guess would be that your new Commander implementation doesn't have write permissions over the scan folder, and therefore is unable to rename the trigger file once detected. Assuming that Commander is running as a service you should specify a domain user account for the service's logon. Make sure the account you specify has sufficient permissions over all the file, folder and printer resources that Commander and BarTender are likely to need.

Ian one year ago we were discussing this, I had several issues I had to work week so I did not follow up thi properly I am still havin this issue with Baan-Bartender 10.00 I ahve some questions here
I see the comander service running in local PCs and server, but I do not see that they have a task, how does exactly the comander work?
Is there a way to have a webex session so you can check our configuration?
