Oracle Database "opening The Records..."
After adding an Oracle database, I can go to the "browse" tab in the database connection setup and the table pops right up. If I "select records" from the print dialogue or build a query in Bartender, a dialogue stating that it is "opening records" takes about 3-5 minutes to look through the database table. Can I prevent Bartender from "Opening the records..." unless I really want it to, or perhaps make it perform that function faster?

Hi Mikew,
If the table you connecting is very big (have many rows), try reduce number of records using Query to see that get faster.
You can specify query from Database setup > Query tab.
if only few records and still slow, that suggests oracle server responding slow for some reason.0 -
I found a work-around. I delete the username and password from the database connection setup. Then, when I go to build a query, it would usually display "opening the records..." for 5 minutes after clicking in the "Criteria" field. But now, it prompts me for my username and password. I now hit cancel, which prevents it from "opening the records..." but still allows me to type in my criteria. Now that I have a query in place to limit its search, I can click "select records" from the print dialogue, and voila!, the table shows up after about 5 seconds. No having to wait 3-5 minutes! 0
