Hi,

I'm not familiar with .NET :(, but that may not be the issue.

Have you installed the Seagull License Server? This is a piece of software required to run Automation or Enterprise Automation editions. It can be installed to the same computer the client is, or to a server accessible over the network.

No I did not install the Server. Nor did I install the Server under the Trial Version and it work the way I needed. Also, I have done some .Net programing under the 9.1 version and never had to install the Server.

Hi BumpaRoy,
In order to print from BarTender Automation editions, you need to connect to Activated Seagull License Server in the same computer or another computer on the same network.
.net SDK apps runs fine without connecting License Server while trial period - since we don't have trial of Seagull License Server.

For detail, Please check White Paper:Licensing for BarTender’s Automation Editions

OK. But did this change since the 9.1 SDK? I have that installed and working with clients without the server running. Is there a version that has the .Net SDK, but does not require the Server?

As far as I know, Seagull doesn't allow to print / print via SDK by BarTender Automation edition without access of Seagull License Server.
Perhaps at that time License server was running on another computer on the network, but I'm not sure what actually happened.

As the segull support states the license server is needed since that's how segull manages your printer licenses that you purchased.

Hi there, I just installed the BarTender Automation edition v10 with 3 printer licenses, I am able to install the software but when I want to print it come out "Attempting to connect to Seagull License Server. please wait".
I am using 3 stand alone barcode printer with connect to 3 different network computers.
May I know Bartender Automation edition can work with stand alone barcode printer (not network barcode printer) without install SLS?
Does SLS can work with stand alone barcode printer (the barcode printer is not the network printer)?
Thank you

Regards

Hello,

The BarTender Automation editions do require a connection to the Seagull License Server. For more information on the Seagull License Server, please see this White Paper: http://docs.seagullscientific.com/whitepapers/WhitePaper_LicensingForBarTendersAutomationEditions_English.pdf
