Demo Mode Version Of 10.1 Bartender Stuck In Demo Mode
I have the license server installed, but the PC with a demo mode version is not finding it, or is not leaving demo mode. I can ping and can run the remote license admin, but I cant get the bartender out of demo mode. AUtomation 3 printer license.

Make sure you activate the BarTender client using your PKC via the "Help>Activate this software" menu item. Check that the software is indeed activated via the "Help>About" menu item. Once activated, select the "Administer>License Setup" menu item, deselect the auto-find* option, and instead enter the IP or host name of the computer running License Server. Make sure the port number matches too; by default this is port 5160.
*Note that the auto-find option will only work if License Server is n the same sub-net, and if network broadcasts are allowed.

Are you saying I have to choose help>activate this software on the second machine I will be running bartender on?(not the one with license server installed) Basically go through typing the license key a second time? My machine with the license server on it shows activated. I am on the same subnet for both machines.

Yes, you have to put in the key code for every machine that you're using BarTender on, so it knows what edition it is, and that it should be looking for a License Server. 0 -
This is getting really frustrating. When I put the product key code into the activation wizard on the second machine, it tells me I have to deactivate it on the first machine before I can activate it on the second machine! If I run the remote license server on the second machine, I can connect to the license server on the first machine. I need to get this machine operational ASAP. Is there an English speaking tech support number I can call in Asia? This machine and software is in Viet Nam.

Hi TripleZ, for BarTender client install, you should not install License Server at installation. If that's the matter, remove License server from Control Panel > Programs > BarTender 10.1 > modify.
Then you can activate BarTender client with the same Product Key Code as the target license server, and specify license server IP/Host from Administer > Licensing Setup.

Thank you, that solved it. Just to let you know. the Asian version of 10.1 r3 on CD loaded all the software without asking me what I wanted to install. This happened on both Windows 7 machines I installed on. No option for choosing.
