I don't have the requirements for this old version of BarTender, but here are the requirements for BT v10.1, our latest version:

On the client machines, you could need to install BarTender (installing the companion applications is optional).

BT v6 is no longer supported by Seagull Tech-Support nor compatible with any of the current Windows versions. Yes, it is recommended that you purchase a copy of the latest version of BarTender (which, in terms of BarTender - License Server communication is WAN compatible).

Now we have 4 printer intermec with dongle and i want upgrade to BT v.10 as you suggest. Correct me if i'm wrong, for server i shouuld buy 1 licence enterprise automation/automation and 3 pc licensing (prof/basic). Or i should buy 4 licence enterprise and install to all (4 pc's) Need suggestion. Appreciate for your help. Thanks Gushim

If the PC's are all network connected, then you just need to purchase 1 license for the Automation (or even Enterprise Automation depending on your requirements) Edition of BarTender, in this case an Automation Edition for 5 printers (there is no license for 4 printers, so you'll need to go for 5). You then install the Seagull License Server on the server side, and BarTender on the 4 client machines. This will allow you to print to up to 5 printers in your network.

In order to find the differences between the Automation and Enterprise Automation Editions, please visit the below link:

    Dear Domingo R,

Thank you for your reply, so now i more clearly to know about SLS, as you said before 1 licence automation for 5 printers on network. If next we have printer more than 5 printers, i should buy new licence again? for example next we have until 20 printers, so we should buy 4 licence again? and that 4 licence install on the first server running before or install separate on other server?

Thanks again and i appreciate for your answer.

    Regards,

If you buy an Automation Edition for 5 printers, and after a few months you realize you require a license for more printers, you would just buy a printer add-on (from 5 to 20 printers). For more details, please contact us directly:

    Dear Domingo,

Thank you for your reply, the last thing on my mind is, if now we have running 1 PC 1 Dongle Printer (Intermec) use BarTender v7, is it possible this PC (use dongle), connect to SLS? or we should upgrade? i mean we buy 1 SLS automation v10.1 (3 licence), and than we plan to connected our stand alone printer (use dongle BarTender v.7) to this new SLS, is it possible?

    Thank you very much

Is this BarTender computer network connected to the SLS server? If yes, then you would just install BT v10.1 on this computer and print to the local based printer. As long as BT has a connection to Seagull License Server over the network (we use UDP port 5160 by default), Seagull License Server will then grant permission to print to this printer (even if it's a local based printer, not shared to the network).

Yes, I would definitely recommend to install BT v10.1 on this PC rather than leave v7.xx running...
