Are you referring to the BarTender System Database (BTSDB) or an SQL Server database that you use to data source data for printing onto your labels?

If the BTSDB, make sure that you specify a valid user account and password at time of installation, or later when you run the BTSDB wizard. The below training videos might also be helpful:

    I'm referring to BTSDB.

I finnally had time to look at it. Still the same issue.
I used my windows credential on the service and to connect to the database and still the same issue.

I have domain admin rights, and full db access (sa). I tried with the minimum permission with another account and still the same issue.

    1. In BarTender v9.3, how did you create the BTSDB? Did you create the database directly in BarTender via the "Administer > Log Setup > Database Log > Setup" wizard or was this a database which you previously created in SQL Server and then had BarTender v9.3 connect to it via the BTSDB wizard?

    2. Under the Windows services ("Start > Run" then type services.msc) you should see one or various instances of "SQLSERVER\BarTender" or "SQLSERVER\SQL...". Are all these services started or is perhaps one of the SQLSERVER isntances refusing to start? If so, please attach the error message you get when trying to start the service for this SQL SERVER instance.

    3. Are you able to create a new BTSDB via the "Administer > Log Setup > Database Log > Setup" dialog rather than trying to connect to an existing database?
