You should try setting the text type to “Arc”. This will cause the text to arc around a reference point. By default, the reference point is set to the center of the label. However, you can also change that to arc around the position point of the object.

To change the text type to “Arc”:

Open the properties of your text object by double clicking on it

Go to the Text tab

Change the "Type" to "Arc"

You will then see the options to change the reference point below that
Does that give you the behavior you are looking for?

Not quite, I already found the arc format. I'm trying to put a long string of characters on a small circle, so Arc doesn't work because the text runs into itself and there is leftover real estate in the center of the label. I want it to print in lines and wrap the text when it hits the round label boundaries instead of in the rectangular text box boundaries.

For example, if you have Adobe Illustrator, what I want to do is basically the same as using the Area Type Tool on a circle.

I see. So what you really want is to combine the properties of the paragraph type object and the arc type object to create an arced paragraph. Unfortunately, we do not currently have a way to accomplish this in BarTender. I will make sure that a feature request is put in for this, but I cannot say when or if this will be implemented.

One possible workaround is to create an image of the text in a separate application and then import that image into BarTender.

Yes, I guess you could explain it as an arced paragraph, but then that wouldn't help if (for example) you had a paragraph object rotated on a rectangular label that you want to fill the label.

I think that a more general object-text wrapping function would be sufficient and more versatile, and also have a setting to have it wrap at the edge of the label and/or wrapping when it runs into other objects (like MS Word's "tight" text wrap setting). I don't know if I'm any good at explaining this so here are examples of what I mean at the bottom.

I guess I don't know how helpful this would be to other people, but it sounds useful to me. Thanks.

These screenshots make it much more clear, but, unfortunately, the answer is still the same.

I do think it is a good idea, and we will add feature requests for it.

Thank you for your patience and I am sorry that we do not have anything to address this at the moment.
