Inverting Barcode In Bartender
Hello everybody,
nice to see there is a seagull-forum. Let's fill it up!
To my problem:
I need to print barcodes with an Intermec PF4i on black media with white thermal transfer ribbon.
Because it is no good idea to print a white barcode directly (as it's difficult to read by scanners) i have drawn a black filled rectangle and in its foreground i put a white colored barcode, hopping the printer would give me what i need.
As i now realized, the printer just gets the command: Here are two objetcs, print them. Don't care what color it is. So i get white on white.
Here is how it should be print: label
And here how it looks like: WhiteOnBlack
So is there a possibility to invert the barcode, so the printer will print the gaps instead of the barcode itself?
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi David, try this..
1. Place a black box, then place a white barcode on the box.
2. On the barcode's property > Barcode Tab > Print Method, select "Bar codes and human readable text controlled by BarTender"
3. On print dialog > Object print method, set Boxes: to "Raster Graphics".

in this way BarTender send a rectangular image rather than white box and white barcode.
Hope that helps!0 -

I was playing around with these options, but didn't find the right combination
Thank you very much for this hint, it works like a charm!0 -

Hi,
I've follow the steps given by Shotaro for an inverse label, attached is a screenshot of what I've after in Bartender and what I'm actually getting on my black label stock:

What I'm getting:

My barcode symbology is GS1-128 (customer requirement).
I have tried Code 39 and other symbologies just in case it was a font issue, same result.
Note, the human readable text is also off centre.
What is interesting is that sometimes the text is centered, and it can move around between prints.
I also sometimes get an error (PCX or something like that) when it sends the print request.
I have a Brady Plus 600 connected via USB to my laptop.
Running BarTender Designer 2016 R2.
I have already flashed the firmware with the most current one available.
I have removed the Brady printer drivers and I am running with Seagull Scientific printer drivers, again the most current ones.0
