Barcodes With No Data
I'm running Bartender Automation V9.3 SR1 with a text file being feed to Commander. The text file has a command line and data for the label format. The text file is being generated with a php script.
Some of the data fields in the text file are empty (on purpose). These fields are printing barcodes type code39. The empty fields are printing meaningless barcodes, perhaps the start/stop characters.
How can I make the empty barcodes not print?

Hey this happened to me for a bit. If you do a print preview, do they not show up?
My solution was to upgrade to the latest printer drive. I use Zebra printers, and that solved it. There may be some other things we can try.0 -

If printer prints device barcode even you gave empty string (""), then generate barcode by BarTender.
In the Barcode property's Barcode tab > Print method, select [Bar codes and human readable text controlled by BarTender].

Using BarTender controlled barcode results slightly bigger print job size, and exactly same bar pattern as the print preview.
(note the [Print method] dialog only available with Seagull printer driver.)0 -
In addition to the above:
1. Upgrade to the latest BarTender service for your version which in this case is SR2.

2. As mentioned by nRyder upgrade the installed printer drivers to the latest Seagull (v7.2.2) version.

3. Make a test print to see if it is now working when the print method for the barcode is still set to be controlled by the printer. If it still doesn't work set the printer method so that BarTender renders the barcode, and then let us know the make and model of the printer so we can look into it.0
