Printing To A Specific Printer Tray
Is there any way to tell the printer server to print to a specific printer tray? Or even the default tray of the selected printer?
I am running into the same issue that I faced with the Print Station application, when you select a printer from the list it grabs that printer name and updates the label with that printer name, but the tray is just defaulted.
In my testing, I have the same printer installed on my computer twice - one is configured to only print to the lower tray, one only the middle tray. I can print to both printers in Word properly, i select the printer (and thus, tray) i want to use and it just works.
When I try to print to these in Print Station or using the "Web Label Print Sample" application, both printers print to the same tray.
Our users want to keep a couple different kinds of label stock (in addition to plain printer paper) in the printer at all times and just print to tray that has the stock they want to use. What is the best way of handling this?

The problem here is that BarTender embeds the printing preferences into the BarTender document file. This is why it will print to the same tray no matter which instance of the driver you use. In Print Station there is no option to change this setting unfortunately, although it is possible to select when using BarTender via other forms of automation. Therefore, instead of using two printer instances, your should instead use two different documents with the differing tray selection.
