What does it do ?  Do you get a blank page, or do you get an error?

I get an error the the location does not exist.

But i found the solution thanks to Domingo Rodriguez.

By default installation the BT system service is running under the account which has installed it.

This was our client Domain administrator, and I did not have the password.

On the other hand WPS application pool creates his own user IIS_WEBPRINT, so there was the mismatch.

I changed both to a service account (with SQL rights, just to be sure) and that solves the problem.

    Hi,

I'm encountering the same issue using Librarian with Print Portal on Bartender 2016.

I can see the mabel i'ld like to print in the print portal, i can open them with librarian, but when I try to print them from print portal, I get this error :

"<Not Available> lambda_method: An error occurred: An error occurred while loading the document lib://Steen/Etiqdivers.btw. Please try again. Details: BarTender document lib://Steen/Etiqdivers.btw does not exist. Please verify the document exists and that a correct path has been provided."

The BT system service and the IIS_WEBPRINT application pool are using the same service account with SQL rights.

Is there anything else to change?

Hello, wondering if there is a solution to this? I'm running 2016 R4 and having the same issue. We also had technical training where the Seagull trainer ran into this and recommended contacting support.

My setup is this (3 servers configured as below):

    • BarTender 2016 R4
    • IIS Application Pool (BPP_AppPool) and Windows Service account "BarTender System Service" both running using the same domain service account.
    • The domain service account is dbo of BarTender database.
    • Even though the service account is dbo we added the additional roles as recommended by the video "Configuration permission to a System Database...".
    • I have run (runas) SQL Management Studio as the service account to ensure the service account has full permissions (A domain service account is everyday common practice in our organization, this is working and the service account is dbo)
    • SQL Server 2014
    • Files are in Librarian, there is no issue if accessing files from the "...Documents" folder on the drive instead of the Library.

From the Print Portal if I select a Label located in the Library, this is the error I receive:

An error occurred while loading the document lib://Test/XYZ.btw. Please try again. Details: BarTender document lib://Test/XYZ.btw does not exist. Please verify the document exists and that a correct path has been provided.

From the log file ..\CurrentLog.txt I get what is shown below for an attempt (added bullets for clarity):

    • 2017-07-13 15:54:45.9399 ERROR: PrintController Print: Failed to load document properties for lib://Test/XYZ.btw. Status=Failure
    • 2017-07-13 15:54:45.9399 ERROR: PrintController Print: BarTender document lib://Test/XYZ.btw does not exist. Please verify the document exists and that a correct path has been provided.
    • 2017-07-13 15:54:45.9555 ERROR: PrintData LoadInitialDocumentProperties: Failed to query document properties for lib://Test/XYZ.btw. Error: BarTender document lib://Test/XYZ.btw does not exist. Please verify the document exists and that a correct path has been provided.
    • 2017-07-13 15:54:45.9712 ERROR: <Not Available> lambda_method: Printing data is not valid. RootFolderName=Librarian, Relative Path=Test/XYZ.btw
    • 2017-07-13 15:54:45.9868 ERROR: ErrorController Default: An error occurred: An error occurred while loading the document lib://Test/XYZ.btw. Please try again. Details: BarTender document lib://Test/XYZ.btw does not exist. Please verify the document exists and that a correct path has been provided.

The file does exist and both BarTender Designer and any Integration I create that makes use of a file in the library works.

    Thanks,

    Rick

    Experiencing similar issues in R6

We have a BT server 2016R6 and a seperate SQL cluster with a bartender database on it.

    - Created a domain user-id with local admin rights on the Bartender server.

    - replaced the IIS account with the domain account

    - all BT services running under the domain account

Added a root folder in the librarian for all users. The root folder is only visible when we log in with the admin domain account. Any other user; the root folder isn't visible.

    I've reported the issue.

    Richard.
