If you need to print 20 completely different label designs on each label sheet, then you will need to create and add 20 different label templates (.btw files) to your BarTender Batch File. To add them:

Open Batch Maker

Click on the "Labels" menu, then click on "Add"

Navigate to the directory containing you labels and select the ones you would like to add (you can select more than one file at a time)

Repeat this process until all of you labels have been added to the batch

You can select individual label labels in the left under "Label Formats to Print" and then modify their print options using the options on the right side of screen.

Once everything is set up click on File > Print Batch

Make sure you save the batch when your done so you don't have to set it up again
If you want to print the same label 20 times, and the data does not change between labels, you can simply change the number of identical copies to 20. To do this:

Open your label format in BarTender

Click on File > Print

Change the "Identical Copies of Label" to 20

Click Print
If you want to print the same label design, but with different data on each label, you may want to look into using a database to store the information to print. You can then configure a single label format to "pull" the information from the database automatically at print time. The following topics give additional information on this:

    Many thanks for the info.

When I attempt the above, BarTender sends a printjob for each label listed in the batch file. i.e. a batch of 20 different labels (all the same size) needs me to put the single sheet of Avery labels thriugh the printer 20 times.

I'm trying to figure out how to consolidate the batch so the 20 different labels are all printed in one go.

I'm using a Laser printer to handle the Avery labels.

Sorry, I misspoke in the first solution. That will not work when using sheets of labels. The only way to force BarTender to print to the entire sheet at once is to send one complete print job to the printer. Batch Maker can be used to send multiple print jobs with one click, but they are still send to the printer as individual jobs, so the printer will feed the sheet through on each job.

Are you printing different designs on each label? If you are using a single design and just want to print different information on each label, then using a database is probably your best option. If you are using multiple designs, unfortunately, we don’t have a very great way to handle that when printing to sheets of labels.

Many thanks for the info. I'll have to look for a 'Plan B'!
