All my attempts either pops up a msiexec information box or behaves as a normal run of the file.

What exact command are you using to install BarTender silently?

I had tried adapting the one from the linked white paper (bottom of page 3), with different versions, like
bt92_2674_enu /s /v" /qb /PKC=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx
(Due to the font, it is not clear whether the /v" part is dash-v-double quote [/v"], or dash-v-single quote-single quote [/v''], or whether there is a space after the quotation mark.)
I had also tried /q instead of /s (a suggestion from the msiexec popup box), and the "msiexec /I" mentioned in another thread
I tried it now again, and it worked, since I now read another line down, where the command ends with another quotation mark (which is missing under the heading "Silent Install Command Parameters Syntax".
I have managed to disable the Trial Features via the registry (discussed in another thread).
Are there also ways to:
a) disable the "open an existing label layout" dialogue via a parameter or registry setting
add an address for the licensing server via a parameter or registry setting. I only need to set one address, and not change port or any other setting.0 -
If you've downloaded the appreciation from our website you'll need to create a server image of BarTender installation before performing the silent install. To do that follow the below steps:
1. Call any of our installers, compressed or not, from the command line and append /A . Example : bt92_2674_Enu.exe /A
2. Choose destination directory for installation files. Note: This is NOT intended to be installed to C:\Program Files\Seagull...
3. After Installation is finished, browse to the destination directory. Make note that BarTender.msi is located in the root of the destination folder.
Once you've created the server image (.MSI) you'll need to use that in order to perform the silent install.0
