Text File As Source
My label source is a text file with two lines of parameters for printing and other admin info. How can I define my label to look at row three of the file for the data? turning on header row option gets me one line closer.
Thanks
Thanks

In order to print or print preview starting with the third record you would just change the starting record number to 3. This will tell BarTender to ignore the first two records at print time.
To do this:

Go to File > Print

Change Selected Records to 3…
If you are using a newer version of BarTender with the live database view, you can use the record selector to the third record in your database to assist you with label design.

I hope this helps!0 -

Thanks Gene, I will try that but suspect it won't solve my problem if only selected at print time. I need it to be pointed to record #3 at design time. Users will not have access to print options as Bartender is being invoked as part of an ERP implementation. Handheld scanners will send the info and initaite the printing without user intervention.0 -

If you change selected records to 3... as Gene suggests and then save the label format, it should work. The print settings are saved with the format, so once its saved with 3..., it will stay that way. Users won't need access to the print options.0
