In the "Page Setup" dialog of the document go to the "Templates" tab and create a second template for your second label design.  Create a second serial number for an object on the second template that uses a matching start number.  Print document for X number of serial numbers.

the problem seems to be that the printer is seeing the space between the labels when printing

    Hello,

Please note that the templates design on the same label is available from version 10.0.

Anyway I would like to make sure about your request, do you need to print 2 labels with a serial number? If yes, you only will need to design a label and create a Serial Number on it (browse to your text object properties and "Advanced Options" for it). So, in the print dialog you need to indicate how many serialized labels you want to print.

Can you let me know what do you mean exactly when you say that the printer is seeing the space between the labels when printing? Have you set up properly your "Page Setup", have you specified in the printer driver that you are using "Label with gaps"?

Please try to provide us with a full description about what do you need exactly: Are the labels differents or are the same label design with a serial number that will increase on each printing? Is there any problem with your page setup?

    Thanks,

    Carlos

What you're trying to do, treating two die cut labels as one, is not possible as the printer won't allow it.  There are some exceptions to this rule, some Intermec printers for example, but generally the printer is the block on this idea.

Sounds like you need to get yourself an updated version of BarTender that will easily support what you want to do in the manner I've described.
