Saving printed serial numbers
Hi,
I am hoping someone can help with my query. I have a desktop shortcut that a user clicks on and it automatically prints serialized labels that auto increment at each print.
I found this method of printing here and it was working perfectly auto printing labels and saving the btw file at the end of a print run without user intervention.
Shortcut I am using is below.
"C:\Program Files\Seagull\BarTender 2019\BarTend.exe" /F="C:\Labels\P22445566.btw" /P /S /X
The thing is I have ran into a scenario, where I have duplicate serial numbers and cant figure out how it happened.
To try and circumvent this and add an extra check, I am trying to "log" each serial number printed to a file. I have been trying to use BarTender Document Options but haven't had any success logging the serials and each time we print a new log file is created.
Would anyone be able to tell me how to log the printed serial numbers? If I had this information in a file, I can put additional external controls to prevent duplication.
Thanks in advance.

The save command used to be to add the save as part of the close command and so the shortcut would be C:\Program Files\Seagull\BarTender 2019\BarTend.exe" /F="C:\Labels\P22445566.btw" /P /XS
I guess that could have changed.
To log the label fields printed checkout the Administer > Log Setup menu option in Designer or else you could create an Action to right out the field data into a database

Hi Peter, thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I am nearly afraid to say how long I've been using Bartender and I didn't know that logging function existed, its looks exactly what I need. Thanks again for your suggestions.
