Space used as padding does not work with Print Portal ...
... but prints fine from Designer v2022.
Hi all,
I am in the process of migrating users from v2016 to v2022 and planned for most of them to use the Print Portal. Unfortunately, we've encountered several templates which do not work from the Portal without modification. I apologize in advance for the many questions I'm likely to ask of the community regarding compatibility issues.
My current challege is padding input for a data source whose query prompt allows 1 - 10 characters to be entered, but the actual query must be ten characters. The difference between what the user types in and the query is padded with proceeding spaces.
- e.g. an item number entered into a prompt is "123-45678", but the search of the data source needs to be padded to " 123-45678".
In Designer entering a value of less than 10 characters is padded with leading spaces, accepted by the query and records are found. The same template printed via the Print Portal requires the user to manually enter the necessary number of spaces to bring the input to 10 characters.
I've tweaked various options in the Query Prompt menu and properties of individual sources.
