Print Job Status - Add Pages Before Printing

We are using a Zebra printer on a parts bagger and we use BarTender to send files to the printer.  When I go to print and bag a certain amount of parts the print job pages will already have a count even before I start.  Example...if I want to run 250 parts and I sent that to the printer, when I look at the print job status it may say 30/250 before I start.  Why would it add pages before I start?

  As far as I am aware the incrementing X value of X of Y on the printer's lcd is controlled by the printer itself and not from the software/driver
