We are already heavily using the global data fields feature in out template designs. Is there a practical limit to how many unique Global Data Fields that should be created? We are looking by the end of the year to have 50+.

Let me know if this would be better as a support request, its not a problem right now.

Thanks for your time and assistance!

Global data fields are stored inside of a field in the BarTender system database and having many of them should not be a problem, the only concern is the amount of space you have available for the system database but the size of the global data field is so small it is really not much of a concern, even with the 10GB limit of the express version of MS SQL.

That make sense, I was looking more from a UI perspective. I know that the Open Document Window and Library have a hard time loading large volumes of templates and folders. I wanted to see if there was any worry about the same thing happening for the Global Data Fields.

Our BarTender database is housed on a Windows 2012 R2 SQL Server, right now it is pushing over 20GBs of space used for the BarTender System database.
