Database connection and more for labels.
Hello,
I have received a request to check the possibilities for BarTender version 10.1 SR1. Is it possible to set everything up so that for the label templates we have prepared for a given client, assign an order number to each of them so that when an employee enters it on a computer with BarTender Print Station, the employee can search by this number, but at the same time, each label has two text/number fields in which data would be pulled from the database? One of these fields would contain the item number and the other the order number. How to solve this? I managed to assign the aforementioned fields to the database, but I cannot link them to a specific client number. Do I understand correctly that each label should be named with the given order number and make an entry with the same number in the database, e.g., in Excel, where the first column would be the order number, the next the item number, and the next the order number? How to connect this in BarTender so that it can detect which value for which label to pull from the database? Alternatively, on which version of the new BarTender could this be possible, as our company would be happy to consider purchasing newer software if it has such capabilities. Best regards!

FYI BarTender 10.1 has been out of support for about 7 years now and so it is probably worthwhile considering updating the software to the latest version to get access to all the additional features and bug and security fixes etc.
If I am understanding correctly your requirement, have you looked at the Filter/Query setup in the Database Connection Setup as that maybe what you are looking for?

Peter Thane thank you for response. I am not able to configure this. Is it available if our company would buy new license for software will there be some kind of guide from your side for us to make this work?

This is shown on some of the training videos accessible from the Training and Support option on the Help menu. I am reseller in the UK and if you are UK based you could ask Seagull to put you in touch with me and I could help with the upgrade and support/config for this
