Assistance Required for TSC DA200 Label Printer Setup
I am experiencing difficulties in setting up my TSC DA200 label printer on my new laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 1, running Windows 11). After installing the USB recognizer program, the printer is incorrectly identified as a Citizen CL-S521.
I have attempted to install drivers from Seagull, Citizen, and TSC. While the Citizen driver allows the printer to be recognized as a device, the Seagull driver remains stuck loading and does not detect the printer. Despite the device being visible on my laptop, attempts to print a test page result in the following errors:
- "Test page failed to print."
- "The handle is invalid."
I have since deleted the drivers and attempted to install the Seagull driver using the 'Other' option instead of USB, which loaded but the driver still cannot recognise the printer. I get the noise from my laptop when I connect and disconnect the USB, so my laptop sees it but I cannot get the driver to.
This printer is essential for printing postage labels for my small business, and I would greatly appreciate your guidance on resolving this issue. Could you please advise on the correct driver installation or any troubleshooting steps I should follow?
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Abbie

Not sure why it wouldn't be recognised automatically, but you could try letting the laptop install it as it wishes. Then download the TSC printer pack from Seagull and run the driver installer in the file and change the port to connect the printer to to "Other" and then select say the LPT1 port. You well then need to manually select the printer driver to install. When the installation has completed go into Properties/Printer Properties and adjust the Port so that the printer is now connected to the same USB port that the incorrect Citizen device is linked to (you may need to check the port ID in the Citizen driver and change that to a different port first).
Once linked then test the printer. I would suggest using the Printer Properties>Tools>Actions>Form Feed drop down option first as that wont take up one of the printer slots in the BarTender licence.

Try this it just worked for me.
My printer is showing up in device manager as DT058-50 and is installed on USB004.
I installed the DA200 driver using other. Once it installed I went to Printer Properties and then Ports.
You should see the printer showing up as a USB port, In my case USB004. I clicked the checkbox next to USB004 and then clicked Apply. Then printed a test page and it worked.
I am guessing the software isn't finding the printer because it is already "installed" even though technically yes, it is not usable.
