one printer - 4 printheads and multiple templates
I have a videojet printer with 4 printers (top right, bottom right, top left and bottom left). These printheads need to print info on bags. I have one bartender file with 4 templates inside. The problem is that it is only printing the first template on all printheads while that shouldn't be the case. I'm rather new to bartender, so I could use some advice on this.

This can vary based on the setup of the printer. Sometimes this is controlled by the device itself with a master-slave type configuration so that the labels sent are duplicated to the other heads although I have come across where the separate heads are different printers each with their own driver.
I had to configure a customer's system for the second setup recently and as they were running Automation/Enterprise edition we created a series of Actions that , after printing to the 1st head, also printed the label to the other heads (printers) passing through the database lookup value and the other print time/manually entry variable fields at that time

Hi Peter, thanks for your reply. In the meantime I have found that the drivers are not up to date so I'm going to fix that in a few days. Corporate red tape about downloading and handling large executable files.I will see if that gives any difference. Any tips you can give me on the solution you implemented? How do you set up the printer heads as separate printers if they are all linked to the same control module?

If you are using a Data Entry Form then if you go into the Properties of that and click the Actions button or if not you will need to configure this from the File>BarTender Document Options>Actions and enable the actions.
The screens/options are slightly similar but with the forms you could add extra Print Document commands (Execute menu) for each other label telling it to print to a different printer each time. On your master label you would need to Name the data fields that need to be transferred to each other label or just the Database Query prompt/filter so you can access this. On your destination labels you would need to do something similar and then use the Insert Variable command to link the destination to the source, something like in the 2nd image below

Hi Peter, those options are not available. We use an XML script to send the data to the named data sources. I have learned that the software of the printer uses subimages to send them to different printerheads. Any ideas on how I can specify the templates as a subimage?
