Bartender Write-to Excel
Hi,
I've got a barcode with serial number label setup. The serial numbers are pulled from an Excel database, and that connection works fine.
I need to be able to write into the database record for a specific serial number the date that it was used/printed. I need this to prevent duplicate serial numbers from being used in the future.
I've been playing with form-level actions but can't find a good way to make this work. I'm very new to bartender.

At this point I understand you have; 1 excel file (extracting serial numbers), and another database where you'll write (serial numbers from Excel) to a separate database?
And the database you'll be writing to, cannot have serial number duplicates?
Also, does the serial number must come from Excel? In other words, does the serial number link to specific records and extract specific information onto your desired label?

I have :
- 1 excel file
This file has two columns:
- Serial number
- Used/not used
The file is created with the serial number column filled (no duplicates) and the used/not used column empty. My label file extracts the serial number from the excel file, and if that serial number is printed, I need it to update the used/not used column.
This way, no two devices go out with the same serial number on them.

How are you adjusting the SQL command source? The text in mine doesn't look like that.
S/N is the serial number I'm checking, MCH-10RMS is the column that contains my "yes" or "no" entries.

Click "Database Connection Setup" and edit it from there.
