Bartender trial license: reduce the number of electronic documents created.
Hello,
We are planning to upgrade from Bartender 10.1 to version 2021 (maybe 2022). So I'm currently in the testing/ validating phase. We are currently using commander script files. I noticed that the processing of those files is taking up to 3 seconds with the new version. This is a lot slower than what we can do with Bartender V10.1 SR4 Entreprise automation.
I hoped that the speed would be the same, but sadly enough this isn't the case (can we generate those labels on a faster way?). I created a script to generate those commander script files (to test) a large amount (to monitor the processing time).
Sadly enough I can't generate labels anymore due to the following error message (trial license btw).
"You are exceeding the maximum of 3 printer(s) that are allowed by BarTender license 'xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx' within a 7-day period. You must either purchase additional printers for your license, reduce the number of printers used, or reduce the number of electronic documents created. BarTender cannot create any electronic documents until this condition is corrected.
I'm currently testing with 2 printers. So how can I reduce the amount of created electronic documents?
I noticed that the Electronic Document Creation is saying that I used 6 printers but I don't know why this is. I only used one printer (PDFCreator) to generate pdf files.

Since BarTender 2019 each 1500 pdf labels count as one printer licence. When first installed BarTender will allow you to have twice the normal number of licenced printers (some will be Temporary Allowed) to allow for setup issues etc and so in your instance once you exceed 6 printers you can no longer print. After this grace period (I think it is 7 days from date of install) the Temporary Allowed printers are no longer available and you can then only print to the licenced number of units.
Personally I have not noticed slow down in response time when replacing a Commander with an Integration Builder process, but I have not implemented a PDF printing process via this route to date and have always been sending labels to physical printers.

Hello Maarten,
The license assignment in v2019 and later works exactly as Peter mentioned, with the slight correction that is 2,000 items/labels per week (instead of 1500). Each time you exceed 2,000 labels another printer license will be taken.
For the integration performance, I would probably suggest logging a ticket with our tech support, so that we can review the files and configuration that you are working with, to be able to provide you with suggestions if there is room for improvement.

@Laura Vela,
So this means that i have to wait for one week and that I than should be able to trial print again? Or do I need a different trial license?
Regards,

I can confirm that I'm back able to print now.
