Data being suppressed when no suppression transforms applied

I am trying to error proof a data entry form, so if the incorrect barcode is scanned, an error will appear. For a particular data entry, it is to be a 6 digit number. One of the other barcodes is a date, which scans in the format DD/MM/YYYY. I have applied a range so there is a maximum of 999999, but instead of warning when maximum reached, it will continue to print and just suppress the field. It works for other barcodes (an error appears) but for the date barcode it just suppresses.

  And this error that appears with the barcodes, could you tell us what it says?
  
  Also, could you send us a picture of the date barcode in question?
