Removal of printers from License
I have a solo instance of Bartender set up to run locally on one machine for one printer for our high volume critical shipment parts. The users can get ahead of themselves by trying to troubleshoot issues to keep things moving and ultimately install the same printer in two different ways with two different ports before breaking the printer altogether. I brought in and installed the new printer only to be hit with a message that we are over the printer limit for our current license. Is there any way to manually remove a printer from the license? Or am I stuck halting production and shipping for seven days? We have no intentions of expanding this license as it is meant to be isolated to one workstation due to the critical nature of the labels.

Hello Alex,
Thank you for reaching us via our Community Forums.
Unfortunately, the only way to manually remove a used printer so it can free up your license is to stop using the duplicated printer for a one-week period. That being said, depending on your setting and environment, you can reach us through our regular support channels and our technical experts might be able to help you with this issue. If you have a Maintenance & Support agreement active with us, then you can reach us via web-form, chat, or phone. If not, we still have some regular support channels available to you.
In order to access support, go to our Get Support page and enter your Support Number, this will automatically check your support status and provide you with links to your available lines of support. Also, please be sure to have your BarTender Support Number with you ready when you reach us as our technicians will have to check on your license and see what the status is from our side.
Let us know how it went!-1 -
Hello,
We have a similar problem, we have a customer using many printers but allso labelprinter for bartender. We use Printix to distribute printers, printix installs the same printer with another port too to connect to its webserver to make cloudprinting possible (as we are 2024 the needs of customers are changing). so we should be able to select the printers that are used in bartender.

From within Administration Console on the Printers screen you can block that device as being useable within BarTender for individual printers whilst in the Licencing section (Printer Usage and Licence Setup) you can create Printer Pools and groups and then make rules relating to those Pools. Not sure if this helps
