Print + print preview permissions - BT 2019 R5
Dear All,
We are running BarTender Designer 2019 R5 and recently have installed our printers on our local server.
We have 2 types of users for which we want to define permissions to BarTender functionalities:
- the product specialist team
- the production team
Our product specialist team is responsible for creation of templates and exporting images of these templates into secured PDF-files. They currently work with the printers installed on our server. As such, it is essential for them to be able and use print preview.
Our production team is responsible for the actual output, i.e. printing the labels physically. They are currently working on the printers which are installed locally (not yet on the server).
We are planning to make a transition for the production team to migrate to the printer servers. However, this means that the other team could print unwanted files on our label printers.
We have searched in Administration Console, but could not find specifically how to define this restriction.
Are there any suggestions on how to define this, please?

Not sure if you have resolved this, but if not then you could look at setting up Printer Pools and what users can use each Pool. This may give you some guidance:
