BarTender mobile app can't connect to BarTender site on local network
Hi I'm trying to get the BarTender mobile app to work. From a browser on the server I can access http://192.168.XX.X/BarTender/Browse but I can't access this on my iPhone. How can I get the url to resolve correctly on the LAN or WAN?

Hi Lyndon,
Thank you for reaching us via our Community Forums!
If you can access the BarTender application from a browser on the server using the URL http://192.168.XX.X/BarTender/Browse, but you are unable to access it from your iPhone, there are a few possible reasons and solutions to consider:-
Firewall or network settings: Ensure that the server hosting the BarTender application is accessible from the LAN or WAN. Check the firewall settings to make sure they are not blocking incoming connections to the BarTender app. Also, confirm that the server's IP address is correctly configured on the LAN or WAN.
-
Network connectivity: Verify that your iPhone is connected to the same LAN as the server hosting the BarTender application. Check the Wi-Fi network settings on your iPhone and ensure it is connected to the correct network.
-
DNS resolution: If you are accessing the BarTender app using the server's IP address, it's possible that DNS resolution is not working correctly on your iPhone. To resolve this, try accessing the BarTender app using the server's hostname instead of the IP address. To do this, you'll need to set up DNS properly on your LAN or WAN and ensure that the server's hostname can be resolved to its IP address.
-
Port forwarding: If you are trying to access the BarTender app from the WAN (outside of your local network), you may need to set up port forwarding on your router. Port forwarding allows incoming connections on a specific port (e.g., port 80 for HTTP) to be forwarded to the internal IP address of the server hosting the BarTender app. Consult your router's documentation or seek assistance from your network administrator to configure port forwarding correctly.
- SSL certificate: If you are using HTTPS to access the BarTender app, ensure that the SSL certificate is properly installed and trusted on both the server and the iPhone. If the certificate is self-signed, you may need to manually install it on your iPhone to avoid SSL certificate errors.
By addressing these potential issues, you should be able to access the BarTender mobile app from your iPhone on the LAN or WAN. :)
