Local Administrator
We are trying to remove all local administrator accounts from our PC and this software seems to create one. All I have found is that it is needed. Can anyone tell me why? If i do not have a good reason why they will shut down this account.

Hello Casey,
Thank you for reaching us via our Community Forums. There are several reasons why BarTender could create a local administrator account. Here are a few examples:
- To facilitate some functionalities: BarTender software needs to be able to perform certain actions that require administrator privileges, such as accessing and modifying printer settings. Creating a local administrator account allows the software to perform these actions without having to prompt the user for their credentials each time.
- To enable printer monitoring: For example, if you enable the Printer Maestro feature in BarTender software, it will create a local administrator account to monitor printer activity and send alerts if there are any problems.
If you remove the local administrator account that BarTender software creates, you may experience some problems with the software. For example, you may not be able to access or modify printer settings, or you may not be able to receive printer monitoring alerts. This of course, can vary depending on your current setup and BarTender environment, among others.
That being said, we have the following Knowledge Base article on the topic which might prove of use to you: BarTender Services and Permissions.
Let us know if there is anything else we can do you for.0
