Commander Not Using Number Of Copies In Btw File S’abonner

We are running into very strange problem. We have a label BTW file. In the BTW file, we set the Copies = 2 in the Bartender Print dialog and saved the BTW file. For printing, we are using Commander running as Windows Service and the Task is mostly default setting other than using Commander Script - %Trigger Contents% using default Bartender1 Handler. In the trigger DD file, we do not specify /C=? since it is already in BTW file mentioned above.

After we start the Commander service, then start putting DD file in the Scan folder, the first DD file always gets printed 2 copies as desired, but the subsequent DD file only got 1 copy printed out. However, if we restart the Commander service, then again it will first prints out 2 copies for the first DD file request, and 1 copy for the rest.

Also some other interesting behavior we noticed. If we add /C=3 in the DD file, the first request will seem overwrite BTW's 2 copies setting and print 3 copies as specified in the DD file. However, the subsequent /C=3 DD file will only get 1 copy. More interesting, if I change /C=? to any other number, it seems to print out the number of copied specified first time, then back to print 1 copy.

The BTW file is attached and below is the sample dd file.

%BTW% /AF="C:\Projects\labels\LabelTraveler.btw" /D="%Trigger File Name%" /PRN="MyPrinter" /R=3 /P

%END%

Traveler,WorkOrder,SerialNum,ModelNum,Revision,MTSP,MDREV
"Sample Traveler","WO12345","S12345","M12345","","12345","A"

Any help would be appreciated.

Try the following ... adding the /DD should close the bartender service (I think) after printing, maybe this is your problem

%BTW% /AF="C:\Projects\labels\LabelTraveler.btw" /D="%Trigger File Name%" /PRN="MyPrinter" /R=3 /P /DD

%END%

Yes. Just tried /DD and it seems fixed the problem. However, it deletes the DD file after printing. For production support, we need the DAT file in case we need to re-print the same label again. Any alternative solution?

Thanks,

Steven

Try using the reprint console?  I'm not sure if that data is there for stuff ran through commander but I am guessing it is.

The reprint console seems not working. It is trying to connecting to a database and we don't have it setup for commander or bartender.

Any other solution for fixing commander/bartender to print correct number of copies other than /DD?

Thanks,

Steven

OK. Found a solution. In the BarTender Commander Handler Setup of the task, set the Restart Process to "Every Command". I think the default was "Every Hour". So far seems to be working without using /DD. I will come back to post if I see more problem.

Thanks for the inputs and very helpfully for me looking into the right direction.
