Multi-Database Joins - Need More Types Of Joins S’abonner

As I understand it, multi-database joins in Bartender are always INNER joins ... so a match needs to be found in both databases for a label to print.

This is less than ideal in my application and I'm sure others as well. I have a dropfile generated by my business system that contains 99% of the fields we use on the label. There is one single field that comes from an outside database (a CSV file).

If there is no match in the CSV file, I still want a label to print ... that one field isnt that important that it should stop production. So an option to have a LEFT join would be awesome.

Pretty sure you have that. At least I do on 10.0 and 9.4. Check the "Joins" tab in your database connection setup.

Unless that's only for between tables and not between databases.

Between tables yes you can do different joins. But between databases the software automatically populates INNER and doesnt allow it to be changed. This is with v10.

9 years and I can't change the join type on multi-database joins from inner join. The selector only displays inner when clicked.

The help document shows other join types should be available but they are not.

Do I need to configure the data sources in a specific way to allow the other join types?

Hi all,

Based on the examples given in the Help Documentation, if your tables meet the condition for different types of JOIN, you should be able to see it in BarTender's database Wizard:
