Attempting To Connect To Seagull License Server S’abonner
I developed a .Net program which used the .Net SDK. On the customers system, I installed the Trail version until they could purchase the full version. On the trial version, everything went fine. The labels print out well.
The Customer then purchased the Automation Version and installed the software (apparently over the trial version) with all of the defaults. They then Activated it. Now when we try and print a label, it just hangs. When I try to print the label via the Test Print function for the label, I get the message "Attempting to Connect to Seagull License Server", then it eventually times out.
So I unintalled the software and reinstalled it just installing the Bar Tender Software (first selection under custom install) and the .Net SDK. That is exactly how I installed the trial version. But I am still getting the message "Attempting to Connect to Seagull License Server".
How can it get this to work the way it did in the trial? There are no other BarTender clients or servers on this system. I just want to be able to directly print a label from the .Net SDK. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with .NET

Have you installed the Seagull License Server? This is a piece of software required to run Automation or Enterprise Automation editions. It can be installed to the same computer the client is, or to a server accessible over the network.
In order to print from BarTender Automation editions, you need to connect to Activated Seagull License Server in the same computer or another computer on the same network.
.net SDK apps runs fine without connecting License Server while trial period - since we don't have trial of Seagull License Server.
For detail, Please check White Paper:Licensing for BarTender’s Automation Editions
Perhaps at that time License server was running on another computer on the network, but I'm not sure what actually happened.
I am using 3 stand alone barcode printer with connect to 3 different network computers.
May I know Bartender Automation edition can work with stand alone barcode printer (not network barcode printer) without install SLS?
Does SLS can work with stand alone barcode printer (the barcode printer is not the network printer)?
Thank you
Regards
The BarTender Automation editions do require a connection to the Seagull License Server.
