Upgrade # Of Licensed Printers Process/scope S’abonner

Hi, we received a printer license upgrade. The instructions we got were a little ambiguous about the process.

 

Obviously I upgrade the license service, but do the Bartender client licenses also need to be updated?

Hello Kevin, 

 

Once License Server is updated with the new license, it will automatically allow more printers to be used by your various BarTender clients. 

 

If the upgrade only concerned the number of printers, it is not necessary to enter the new Product Key Code in your BarTender clients. However, if you also upgrade the version of the software, then, even though older BarTender clients can connect to a newer License Server, it is recommended to have all the components of the BarTender suite running the latest version available for your license.

I received the new license product key via email from Seagull Scientific to bring our printer license from qty 3 to 4 printers. We are on Bartender 2019.  Are you saying we don't need to enter the new Product Key Code anywhere? Please explain, because we are still only showing 3 printers.

Hi Glenn,

Yes you dont need to add a new Product Key Code but you need to "refresh" the licence so that it forces the change. To do this open Administration Console on your licence PC/server and click on Licensing and at the top of the screen you will see your current licence. To the right of the this entry (just after "Support Expires" is a refresh icon, click on this and Admin console will then contact Seagull's system to pick up the licence number changes.
