I have a label with a QC code I would like to add an option to turn on/off @ the printing prompt.  Is there an easy way to accomplish this?

I'm not sure I follow you, perhaps you could explain further as to what you're looking for and trying to achieve?

Hi there,

I believe the feature you're looking for is conditionally printing a bar code (toggle), based off of an option in the Data Entry Prompt? Example, the Data Entry would state "Show Bar Code" with a Drop Down option of Yes or No, or a Radio Button with the same options. The Yes or No would dictate the condition, and act as an "if true, print, if not true don't print" type scenario.

This will require v10.1, and will utilize the Conditional Printing option. I've attached an example label here so you can see what it's doing.

We create a Named Data Source on the left-hand pane, name it whatever you want, and erase the sample data our of it so it's blank. After that, we go to the Data Entry Form and create either a Drop Down List, a Radio Button, a Input Text Box, whichever you want really. We right-click on the new control, properties, Linked Data Source, and select the newly created Named Data Source. If opted for a Drop Down Menu or Radio Control you will see the options to under Linked Data Source to define what the options will state.

I'm attaching a few screen shots of what i'm doing as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask!

Unfortunately I cannot open your file because I onyl have version 9.4 but from your images this is exactly what I need!!  So there is no way to do something similar with 9.4?  I could possibly submit a request for an upgrade but we have many computers locally & in other regions that need to use these files & they are all on 9.4 rigth now.

No, this option isn't available in your 9.4 version. In BT v9.4, what you could do is use some VBScripting (on "OnPostPrompt" event) in order to check the value of the "ShowBarCode" data source. If "ShowBarCode" is "No", you would then assign the empty string "" to the value of the bar code.

As some printer firmwares would still see a blank bar code as something to print, the bar code might still be printed even if it's empty. In order to avoid this you would need to set the print method for the bar code to be "Barcode bars and human readable text controlled by BarTender". You can find this "Print Method" button under the bar codes properties dialog.

WE had a similar issue where some of our labels needs a bar code, others didnt. We just created each label as a separate .btw file, some with barcodes, others without..

BarTender10.1 Automation's conditional print would help such case. for older ver, set empty value by VB Script to hide object is often used.
