BT v10.10

Windows 8

I recently started getting an error when opening a set of labels that I have been using for a couple of months, I never had an issue in the past. Suddenly whenever I try and open one of these labels, it immediately crashes bartender and I must re-open the file. It does this whether I open from within BT or allow the file to force open BT as well as choosing to open from a list of programs. Every so often one of the labels will open, there doesnt seem to be any particular reason when this is. Ill try opening the file 10x to no avail, and then suddenly it works the 11th time, or 15th time.

I am at a loss as to why this might be. Any insight is appreciated.

Thank you,

-Miguel

I have attached a copy of one of the labels.

you have to use using Version 7.3.6 and from there you have to open with 10.1 bartender of the old version and re- save the new version /

Why would I need to use v7.3.6? We dont have a single machine running older than 9.4. Regardless the crash happens whether on a 9.4 or 10.1 machine, and the files that crash the application or saved as 9.4 or 10.1 and both crash primarily on our 10.1 pro machine... I guess I am unsure of how using 7.3.6 would fix this?

The ZDesigner printer driver, made by a contracted software vendor for Zebra, has caused problems of corrupting label documents in the past.  Please avoid using them as previously recommended, apart from anything else the use of these drivers will result in a loss in print performance.  Instead download and install the latest Seagull printer driver for your Zebra printer as these will offer better reliability and performance.

Also I suggest you download and install v10.1 SR4 which was just recently released: http://www.seagullscientific.com/label-software/fixes_101.aspx

I have upgraded to 10,1 RS4, All of my drivers have been procured through the zebra utility provided on Seagull's website. I guess I don't see what is different about my labels that will open just fine every time, and my labels which crash BT almost every time. And if the ones that are crashing BT are corrupted, I don't see how they open on occasion. I am really looking for an explanation, and wondering if there is a solution? or do I need to remake the labels?

Thanks again for the help!

Could you confirm to us that the issue disappears if you recreate the BarTender document and use latest 7.3.6 Seagull drivers instead of ZDesigner printer drivers?

Also, for every document which makes BarTender crash are you using ZDesigner printer drivers?

As far as I was aware, all of my drivers had come from the Seagull driver utility. Can you tell me how to determine what driver version a label was created with? So that I am able to check?

Thanks,

-Miguel
