What printer make a model are you using?

I believe I'm correct in say that BarTender runs off the RGB colour system, and that you'll need to use the options in your printer driver to perform the colour matching.

We are using a Xerox C75.

Bartender indeed converts everything in RGB, we've tried multiple printer drivers and pdf printers.

Also printing to a pdf file using the Adobe acrobat pdf printer doesn't work.

Although this driver has the option not to convert any colors, bartender still converts to RGB.

Printing from other applications to this Adobe acrobat pdf printer works and leaves the colors untouched.

When you say "leaves the colors untouched", the colors of what?  BarTender doesn't use Pantone colors (or CMYK) for any of its objects, so I presume you're importing a graphic object.  What format is it, something like Adobe Illustrator, or is it a PDF file?

If it is PDF, we may have already improved this in 10.1 SR2 (coming within a couple of weeks).  If it is something else, we're unaware of a problem so you should open up a tech support case and submit the problematic graphic.

It's indeed about an imported picture in PDF format, the PDF file contains correct color information.

Could you send me a link so i can test this update please.

I've installed and tested the update, the color information from external or embedded pdf files is still converted to rgb.

Please let me know if i can try something else...

just found out that .eps files are not converted when printed.  (works in SR1 and SR2)

I will convert all graphics to eps to continue.

thanks for trying to help me ;-)

Hi, we also have the same problem, we are using the 2019 Bartender version and the problem is the same, I don´t now if there is some option in the printing configuration on Bartender to fix that, to solve the problem we are using .EPS file format to create the artwork that we use as a template in Bartender Designer.

ERICK: The fundamental issue is that BarTender is currently an RGB orientated application.  In the printer driver you use, you can implement colour profiles etc, but BarTender is still RGB only.  With that said we do plan on adding CMYK support in the future, so you'll need to be patient a while longer I'm afraid.

"we do plan on adding CMYK support in the future"

Are there any further updates on this feature?

Not sure but there have been some changes to the colour option including pantone support now if this helps. Here is some info about this:

Philip: Alas, we still wait on native CMYK support.

Is there an update concerning this?

We are also trying to print PDF's generated by bartender in CMYK, however this seems impossible.

Maarten: Unfortunately this is not currently supported.  BarTender is based on RGB for colours.  Sorry, but I don't have a timeline for when this might change.
