Ridiculous Document Level Vbscript Feature S’abonner

Happened to me today:

I had 50-100 lines of working VBscript related to printout emailing and error handling. I was testing some printing related issue so I disabled VB scripting with the "Use VB Scripting" checkbox.

Later when I wanted to work on the VBscript again I enabled that same checkbox and noticed that all my code was gone. Fortunately I had other version where I still had that code stored but still I find this to be unacceptable feature!

Please fix this asap

What version/build of BarTender are you using?  I just tried this in v10.1 SR4 and all worked just fine.  Even after closing a saved document and reopening and re-enabling the VB script.  Maybe this is already fixed.

I'm also using 10.1 SR4... Thats weird because I just tested this again to make sure and I got the same result as before, which is that when I disable VB scripts they are erased.

If I knew how to attach files to this post I could maybe share the .btw document I'm testing this with.

Okay, I see the problem now.  You need to first deactivate the VB script, save the label, and then close the document for the issue to be seen.  However, it only seems to happen for document level VB scripts rather than a VB script associated with a particular object.  I'll submit a question to our developers on this for you.  Meanwhile, you'll just need to be careful when deactivating the VB scripts.  In the next release of BarTender we'll have VB script functionality that should ameliorate the situation you currently face.

BTW: Is there any reason why you have all of those empty label templates in the document?

If you look at the layers you'll notice that I have different page design for page 1 vs further pages. To create space for page 1 header I need to add those empty templates and I haven't figured how else to do it.

I think you can just go to your page layout and make the top margin larger, and make fewer "labels" per sheet to account

I believe this is solved in BarTender 2016 which has a new IDE for VB Scripting: http://www.seagullscientific.com/label-software/barcode-label-design-and-printing/
